1: Kyrrelys works with light- and video design, and scenography, and is the project manager for "Kunst på Øya", the Øya festival program for Visual Arts. He holds a Master's degree in Theater from KHiO, where he focused particularly on how objects and spaces express meaning.

2: Kyrre is curious about how we perceive the world around us and each other, especially when we are performers and audience members. This curiosity feeds his efforts to create connections between the audience and the stage. He has worked on projects on all continents except Antarctica and the Arctic, engaging with various art forms where encounters between people and art take place.

3: Kyrre Heldal Karlsen does light design, scenography, and video work for everything from performing arts to visual arts. He works from the perspective of the stage as a space and the performance as a story, aiming to engage the audience and make them an active part of the show. He works with theater, dance, music, and anything else that involves an audience.

Recently, Kyrre has done light design for Det Norske Teatret, video installations for Lindstrøm's commissioned work at the Henie-Onstad Art Centre's 50th anniversary, light design for the Climate Lab exhibition at the Nobel Peace Center, and has been on tour with Steamdome, Thea Hjelmeland, Jaga Jazzist, Årabrot, and Morten Qvenild and Frode Gryttens Area 51.

Kyrre also teaches light design and other stage-related topics for those involved in music, dance, theater, spatial and visual arts. He is the project manager for the Øyafestivalen and Munch Museum project to showcase visual art at the Øyafestivalen. He holds a Master's degree in Theater from KHiO.

4: Kyrre Heldal Karlsen stages performers, light, and video in any space with an audience and has been working in Norway and internationally since 1993. He creates visual experiences for everything from art installations and large concerts to performing arts and festivals. The staged space and the story told are starting points for his designs. He explores how visual elements can best present the performance and its structure to initiate a variety of narratives among the audience. The audience can enter the performance as spectators but simultaneously choose to observe the theatrical situation they are in—absorbing the actual space together with performers and crew—and thus observe the circumstance of being a spectator. In this way, Karlsen points to the theater as a social arena, creating spatial situations where the audience can choose to experience themselves being staged as actors, and enchanted by the performing arts to escape from everyday life.

Kyrre lives in Oslo, Norway, previously France and South Africa

He is a Board member of Norwegian Scenographers and received Norsk Kulturråds arbeidsstipend 2013 and Hedda best performance 2015
